Today's Thoughts

Wouldn't it be nice if we just knew what our lives were going to end as? Sometimes, I think that and then sometimes I think about how fun it is to live in the moment. Tomorrow always brings new surprises and there's only so much you can do to prepare for tomorrow. I'm a big fan of spontaneity. Just relax and let loose. The best memories I've had usually have little planning and thought beforehand. I'm not saying that impulse decisions are the best thing by any means. I just think that when you think too much into things it just makes the little worry wort inside you jump for joy. Life is shorter than we think and it comes at you fast. Who knew I would be so close to graduating from college. Granted, I still have a couple years but in reality that's nothing. Responsibility is knocking at my door and has already crept in a few times. Watch out everyone, he could be at yours too.

My goal as of late is to fool lil Satan. He's gotten me a little too much lately and so now the fight is really on. Really he should just give up now because he's going down. My happiness defeats him every time.

Joshua 1:6 "Be strong and of a good courage."

My Baby Sister is Growing Up

Attention everyone!!!! Rachael (no middle name) Fuller got into THE BYU aka Brigham Young University!!!!! Of course everyone knew it was bound to happen due to her genius nature, but that's besides the point. I don't think she can beat my story of how I found out, but I'm sure hers was just as exciting. I hope there was some sort of happy dance involved with Sadie going crazy as well because only that would be normal in the Fuller household. She is so beautiful and gorgeously tall (-er than me) and we are going to dominate BYU together starting in the fall. It will be EPIC! (*cough cough* Chelsey) Watch out boys, there will be another Fuller on campus! haha Plus, I already got an amazing reaction from Grandma so I'm sure there will be some shopping and sewing adventures soon to come. Countdown = 186 days. :)

Reality Check

I am so blessed in my life. Sometimes I can get down on myself, but then nice people remind me. I go to an amazing University where I'm living my dream everyday. Who knew this average girl could get in? I'm on the BYU freakin' swim team! (sorry for the language mom). Sometimes I forget that it is such a blessing. I have an absolutely WONDERFUL family that is always there for me as well as friends and neighbors. I don't know how I got to live in this wonderful ward/cute loft, but it was a very good decision. There have been so many fun times and memories so far and more to come.

I have the best roommates who buy me dinner AND desert (yes, we eat desert and don't even care about the calories) when I'm having a bad day. We go on crazy runs up to the temple even though none of us are in running shape. I am a sprinter when it comes to running too. Sitting on the temple grounds just makes things so much better in life. I highly recommend it. One day we're going to run a 5K/maybe a half marathon together and I expect you all to be there as cheerleaders ;) I might change my mind after waking up tomorrow though so don't make any plans quite yet. No need to get the face paint out.

Here's a good quote I like by President Eyring:

“Even when you feel the truth of [the] capacity and kindness of the Lord to deliver you in your trials, it may still test your courage and strength to endure. The Prophet Joseph Smith cried out in agony in a dungeon:

“ ‘O God, where are thou? And where is the pavilion that covereth thy hiding place?’(D&C 121:1–2). . . .

“The Lord’s reply has helped me and can encourage us all in times of darkness. Here it is: ‘My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes’ (D&C 121:7–8).”

Park City

This past weekend I had my final swim meet of the season. Not everyone on the team gets to go to conference (in fact only about 14 of the 30 girls can go...or something like that) so a group went to Park City for a high school Senior meet. It was prelims/finals which is always good for a taper meet because it means you get two chances to swim the same event. (that is, if you make it back to finals aka the top 16). I swam the 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 200 medley relay, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and the 200 freestyle relay. I went a best time in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.33) and that was probably the highlight of my meet. I had ankle surgery back in April and thus had a rough time of it for awhile. I had a hard time working out after the surgery so my summer wasn't very progressive for my swimming. Motivation was low and all that jazz. I honestly wasn't expecting much coming into the BYU swim season with my ankle still hurting after surgery. I didn't expect to go best times I just wanted to get back in shape and have fun. That, ladies and gentlemen, I did and I did well. I am so blessed to be a part of a great team with wonderful coaches and teammates. I love them to death. Sooo, the best time in the 100 was a complete shock to me. When you get to my age/stage in swimming its a lot harder to drop time. Hundredths and tenths are valuable.
Probably the best part of the meet were the relays. I absolutely L.O.V.E relays. I just love the competitiveness and cooperation that comes together for the race. It's so easy to run off of other's energy and swim for your team, not as much for yourself. Which is probably why I went two more best times (with a relay start though) in the relays. :29 in the 50 breaststroke baby!! Anyways, the meet was fun and not as stressful as a conference meet would be. There were a lot of laughs and tired muscles, but it was all worth it in the end. Maybe next year I'll make it to conference. Go BYU!

Bliss

I love blogging. It's a great way to be creative and have everyone catch up on my happenings. It's actually gotten warm for a couple days, but now there's snow again. It made me so excited for spring to come! I can't wait! I also had a very good Valentine's day. Here are the beautiful roses I got. (plus chocolate, of course and a yummy homemeade dinner) It was great! :)

Februhairy

The countdown is now down to 3 days everyone, 3 days. Ever since the month of September I have been waiting for this day, February 17th. Swimmers make a lot of sacrifices in order to be good at what they do. One of those sacrifices is to have draaaggg. There are different ways to create drag, but our captains and coaches like us to go the natural route, unfortunately. So for six long months we obey and wear a lot of pants and definitely tights on Sundays. Well folks, the tights are retiring soon so a celebration is in order. Hooray!!

Meet My Friend

So I have this friend who's name is Maui Caramacs. The best friend any girl could ask for. I thought my friend only lived in Hawaii until I went to get my costume for the upcoming Barbie party. There sitting in the party store, just waiting for me to find him. It was quite a reunion, let me tell you. After many gasps, little jumps, and giant smiles we finally found each other again. This is the first time I found little Caramacs instead of Caramacs just coming to me via those wonderful people that go to Hawaii without me. It was glorious. We have been rejoicing and Caramacs has stayed around for a good 4 days already, although I have a feeling he won't be sticking around for much longer. Sorry I don't share Caramacs very often. (not even with the roomies) For really, he is my best friend and has seldom left my desk area. *Sigh* Bliss.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Awkward:
-Getting hit on by an interesting fellow in the library. Who sits by someone with only an iPod, just staring at the BYU home page? As soon as I answered the question, "Are you dating anyone?" he soon disappeared and looked very distraught. Sorry dude.
-Having Marcus, our coach's little 2 year old, follow me into the girl's bathroom. What do you say to the child? Umm...sorry girls only. "But my mom lets me come in here!" Well, um...not the SWIM locker room.
-Looking up at someone in the Cougareat, when I realized they were looking at me. They quickly glanced away. More awkward for them, than me though!
-Having someone try to give me a flier in the wilk, but started talking to me as I had already passed them. Do you turn around?
-Texting while walking and almost walking into the rocks on the side of the sidewalk by the SWKT because I wasn't paying attention to where I was going.
-It being so dang cold outside that my boogers froze on the way to class.
-The horrible smell in the locker room that hasn't gone away for days. Anyone want to fess up?
-The window in Shari's house in her bathroom that had no blinds or curtains. Weird.
-When Rachel and Marnie figured out that they were wearing the same underwear.

Awesome:
-Having lunch with my best friend in the whole wide world, Chelsey!!
-Listening to random live music in the wilk. People are so incredibly talented at BYU.
-Throwing up "gang signs" to the opposing team in a heated game of memory when we won. Oh, how I love Elementary Education.
-Having an amazing Ed Psych teacher who doesn't care if we laugh and wants to be included in our jokes.
-Spinning the amazing unicorn folder that tells you what you should do next if you were a unicorn. Thanks Sarah!!
-Having a nice, relaxing swim practice because we have a meet against Utah tomorrow and they're going to get smashed!!
-Knowing that my wonderful friends are coming to watch my swim meet tomorrow.
-Sleeping in until 6:40. Yes, I'm talking AM and it's a big deal for me.
-Eating a Spicy Italian foot long sandwich from Subway, TOASTED! (Thanks Harper for the genius idea)
-People watching in my flexibility class. A guy had a shirt on that said BYU Jump rope Workshop. Why wasn't I invited?
-Doing my homework on a love sac in the athlete locker room
-Team dinner at Shari's house!!

Digital Storybook

For my IP&T 287 class, I had to create a digital storybook. Watch and enjoy!
