Forth of July Festivities

Every year our neighborhood has a Forth of July party and parade. The firetruck and ambulance come and kids follow it around the block on their bikes, decked out for the occasion. It's always been a fun tradition. After the parade we eat lots of yummy food and the kids play in the water that the firetruck sprays in the air. This year Ansley, TJ, and Cohen came along. It was REALLY hot, but fun nonetheless!

Bunnies!!!!

 

A recent adventure at the Fuller household was that we (well the boys--Sterling and Devin) caught six baby bunnies. Our neighbor called frantically to help her catch them in her yard. The Johnson Place neighborhood does not, let me repeat, does NOT like bunnies. Although they may be cute innocent little creatures, they tend to eat every pretty thing in sight, including the flowers, garden and any other vegetation we try to grow in our yard. My mom particularly dislikes when her plants are eaten. Of course, we were up to the adventure, so we caught the innocent looking little bunnies with butterfly nets and took them to a far away park to set them free. It was quite the task! We sprayed them with a hose to try and get them to come out from underneath the plants, and then gathered them up. They were definitely very fast little buggers. A funny sight for sure. My aunt, Mirae, thinks that we are bunny killers because there is no way they'll survive at the park. That may be the case, (they are small little creatures) but at least they're not eating our flowers! We put them under a very sheltered tree, however, so maybe they'll have a chance. I think that at least two of them will survive, but I guess we'll never know.  No harm done, right? They could all be alive right now. :)

Summer Beginnings

The lack of posting so far is due to the fact that I left my camera cord in Provo! Bummer...it basically means that I can't put up any pictures I take all summer. It is very unfortunate. They will all come at once sometime in last August, if you'd like to start a countdown or something. I don't like to post something without a picture because (and maybe this is the elementary school teacher in me) personally, I wouldn't want to read a post without a picture. It's just not that interesting. So that is how we end up with a picture of Lee DeWyze! Recently the whole family has gotten into watching American Idol. The finale is next week!! It is definitely not a unanimous vote in the Fuller household for who should be the American Idol, but I'm the only one that votes, so I win :) I want Lee to win, but Mom and Dad like Crystal. We will see!

We went to the Cardinals game last night because Sterling sang the national anthem with his elementary school honor choir. Thanks to his shortness, he was able to be front and center and seen on the jumbo screen! He did great. So proud :) All four of us kids have been in the choir, so its been fun to get the discounted tickets throughout the years and the opportunity to go to so many games. The Cardinals didn't score at all and it was a pretty lame game but we made the most of it. Ansley and Cohen came, which made things more exciting. Cohen is the cutest little baby ever!! Go CARDS!!!

This summer I'll be working at the JCC again in Chesterfield along with Tropical Sno by the high school. I had an interview with Khols but I haven't heard back so that's probably a dud. Once school gets out I'll still be pretty busy though.

The ankle is healing nicely. It hasn't been swollen for a couple of days now. I couldn't tell you the last time I could actually see the real shape of my ankle. It's exciting! I have some pretty wicked scars too. I've swam once so far and it was alright. It will definitely take me a long time to get back into the swing of things. Wish me luck.

Upperclassman Status

I'm officially an upperclassman! Not that it really matters in college, but it just sounds cool. Junior... wow! I'm starting to feel old, but then again I really have lived this long so I guess its legit. I finished my finals on Tuesday, packed/cleaned ALL day Wednesday, and was in Heber until the cast came off on Monday and the flight home. Its going to be a nice few relaxing days. I wouldn't have been able to clean and pack if it wasn't for my grandma helping me. What a blessed person I am to have such wonderful, helping family members. Grandpa and Ryan came up with the truck to help haul my stuff away. I have definitely acquired a collection, that's for sure. Josh and some of his buddies came up to help too. Today Chelsey, Josh, Grandma, and I all ran errands in Provo which was a bit stressful, but fun at the same time. I feel pretty accomplished today. I spent all the money left on my meal card, $90 worth of kitchen stuff for next year. It should definitely come in handy. I'm really excited for my muffin tin. ha.
Since my last post we've had our swim banquet which included dinner at Brick Oven, awards, and movie slideshow in the SAB. I always love the movie. Kirsty's parents did a great job of taking pictures and putting them all together. The website where you can see more is at http://picasaweb.google.com/jeffreybferrell/. The girl's team won conference so we awesome rings that are really cute. Their not girly really, but huge in a way that's obnoxious...just cute. It says my name on it and everything. Pretty sweet.
Well summer is a callin'! Sophomore year was great filled with lots of memories! :)

Finals :(

This is how finals make me feel. The pictures says it all. I have two more to go and of course I saved the hardest for last...History of Creativity and American Heritage. I can't wait to be done!!! It'll be the best feeling ever. :) Then, I get to start all my fun classes in the fall for ELED!! Yahoo! Wish me luck. Studying is taking over my life.

The Pink Cast

So last Friday I got surgery on my ankle. It went well...no complications or anything. The one surprise was that 2 minutes before I went into surgery the nurse asked me what color cast I wanted. "What?! I'm getting a cast?" This was news to me. I don't know what I was thinking I was getting, but it certainly wasn't a cast. Due to the fact that they did not have bright purple or electric blue, I went with the florescent pink. I got quite the comments from the nurses and staff at the surgery center, but hey! I like my pink :)

I'm not a fan of pain....and surgery is painful....not the actual procedure, but the healing process is killer. Whoever invented pain killers should be sent straight to the celestial kingdom for that deed! I'm going to try the whole school thing tomorrow...we shall see how that goes. I have gotten quite the collection of signatures, which makes me feel loved. But most of all, if it wasn't for Chelsey I would still be at Grandma's getting fat on wonderful food. I'm not saying that Grandma's food is bad, its just that you can only handle the consequences of the food for a few days. Chelsey has done so much for me and I love her for it! She's there when I feel like a fat man and can't pick up my clothes on the ground. She's there when I feel like a baby and can't quite get into the bathtub by myself. She's there when I feel like a 7-year-old and can't quite make myself dinner. But most of all she's there as my friend helping the gimp get through the day. The best adventure with the pink cast so far has been to Smith's to go grocery shopping. I drove my own cart just like an old person who can't walk. A dream come true! haha. Those motorized carts even beep when you back up. Unfortunately they really don't go all that fast. What a shame.
